Emerson's Scoliosis Journey

After letting the doctor know we were concerned about how Em's lower back looked, they wanted an x-ray.  We prefer to use the low dosage EOS machine and decided it would be best to just go to Shriners.  Craig made the trip today.  They got the x-rays and were able to visit with Dr. Kelly.  He said it looks the exact same as the last x-ray.  We are relieved for now.  Now, we just pray it stays that way and doesn't continue through her bone. 

Em had her appointment this past Monday.   The purple tool is the magnet that they use to locate her magnet and mark it with the pen.  The white machine is what they use to lengthen.  It is very loud but painless.   Dr. Luhmann went ahead and did a lengthening, but wanted us to watch the bottom part of her rod since the x-ray is showing it has started to migrate through the bone.  We were hopeful that it wouldn't continue, but her back looks different and we are concerned.   If it has migrated all the way through, she will need a revision surgery as soon as possible.   She is not in any pain right now.
